Sustainability Research Expert Stuart White to Keynote International Emerging Technology Symposium
Professor Stuart White, Director of the Institute for Sustainable Futures, will deliver the keynote address at the fifth International Emerging Technology Symposium (IETS), May 10-11, in the Chicago area.
Co-convened by 10 organizations — IAPMO, Alliance for Water Efficiency (AWE), American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE), American Supply Association (ASA), Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating (CIPH), Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA), Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors National Association (PHCC), Plumbing Manufacturers International (PMI), United Association (UA), and World Plumbing Council (WPC) — the two-day symposium at the Westin O’Hare Hotel in Rosemont, Ill., enables participants to hear presentations on how the manufacturing, engineering and trade industries are tackling challenges and devising innovative products and practices in the areas of water and energy efficiency, sanitation and health, water reuse, solar and other renewable energies, new and exciting technologies in the field of alternate water use technologies, plumbing fixtures and fittings, new water metrics for non-residential buildings, the water-energy nexus, and market based programs designed to foster the more efficient use of water in buildings.
Professor White leads a team of researchers dedicated to creating a path to a sustainable future through independent, project-based research. An acclaimed author, commentator and award honoree, with more than 30 years of experience in sustainability research, Professor White’s work focuses on achieving sustainability outcomes for a range of government, industry, and community clients across Australia and internationally.
