Viola to Participate in ASPE Educational Event
IAPMO’s Director of Special Services Dave Viola has signed on to participate in the American Society of Plumbing Engineers’ “Workshops: Green Initiatives | Model Plumbing Codes” educational event July 8-9 in the Chicago area.
The two-day event at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites in Rosemont, Ill., offers attendees an opportunity to network with industry peers, share ideas about green plumbing and have all of their plumbing code questions answered by the plumbing industry’s leading experts. It is presented by the ASPE in collaboration with IAPMO, the Alliance for Water Efficiency (AWE), the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the International Code Council (ICC) and Plumbing Manufacturers International (PMI).
Plumbing engineers, designers, specifiers, code officials, inspectors and or contractors wishing to advance sustainable, code-compliant plumbing systems will want to be sure to attend.
During Friday’s “The Impact of Green Codes/Standards on Plumbing Design” forum, Viola and other leaders from the model code world will discuss sustainable initiatives in the plumbing codes, as well as advances in green construction standards, such as IAPMO’s Green Plumbing and Mechanical Code Supplement. In this unique forum, participants will be able to ask questions, voice their opinion and help influence the future of green plumbing codes.
At Saturday’s “How to Use the Model Plumbing Codes in your Designs,” ASPE Past President Julius Ballanco, PE, CPD, FASPE, will explain how to interpret the Uniform Plumbing Code and other model plumbing codes to design code-compliant plumbing systems using ASPE’s latest publication, the Illustrated Plumbing Codes Design Handbook, written by Ballanco.
