ARCSA Offers Tools for Successful Rainwater Harvesting
Rainwater harvesting has the potential to provide millions of water each year — potable and nonpotable — as well as helping reduce stormwater runoff and its harmful effects.
The American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association (ARCSA) has the knowledge and experience to make sure officials have the training and accreditation they need to take advantage of the systems that are available and make sure they are compliant with existing codes.
ARCSA is made up of a diverse group of professionals in various levels of government; educators; manufacturers, installers and suppliers of rainwater harvesting equipment; and consultants and other interested individuals. The organization has members in all 50 states and several other countries.
In fact, ARCSA is IAPMO's source for rainwater-harvesting expertise in the IAPMO Green Plumbing and Mechanical Code Supplement. Bob Boulware, Immediate Past President of ARCSA, serves on the Green Technical Committee and Chairs the committee that oversees the development of the rainwater harvesting provisions.
In addition to newsletters, e-mail communications and discounted rates for workshops and the annual conference, members have the opportunity to become an ARCSA Accredited Professional – the only nationally recognized rainwater-harvesting credential. This prestigious certification assures consumers and regulators that the professional has been screened, taught and tested by the best in the business. For those wishing to go a step further, ARCSA offers 300-Level workshops and recognition as Certified Professionals.
