IAPMO applauds the passage of the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022, legislation that includes creation of a National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) program, in consultation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), for premise plumbing research — a federal policy for which IAPMO has advocated in Washington, D.C., for more than a decade. The legislation was signed into law by President Biden on August 9.
The IAPMO Group recently launched a series of videos demonstrating the procedures for testing WaterSense toilets, showers and lavatory faucets. These consumer-oriented videos show the extra steps manufacturers take to reduce the consumption of water while still providing the expected user experience.
In service to its longstanding commitment to promoting the trades and the highly skilled professionals who work in them, the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO®) is proud to partner with Pfister on season three of its "American Plumber Stories" docuseries.
The Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services has approved IAPMO's Water Demand CalculatorTM (WDC) as an alternate method for estimating the demand load for a building's water supply and principle branches for one- and two-family dwellings in the state.
