National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Published New Report on Management of Legionella in Water Systems

Legionnaires’ disease is on the rise, increasing six-fold in the last 20 years, with no signs of stopping.  The disease is caused by inhaling Legionella bacterium from cooling towers, hot tubs, premise plumbing fixtures and other building water systems.

Whitepaper: Coronavirus in Plumbing Systems: How Did the Outbreak Occur in Hong Kong and Is There A Risk in the United States?

Health officials in Hong Kong have determined that plumbing systems in certain high-rise buildings are implicated in recent cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus. Based on the limited information available, it’s clear that transmission paths that would allow for the virus to spread between individual apartment units in at least one high-rise building have been identified.
