Prominent Organizations Pledge Support for CPC Navajo Mountain

The International Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Foundation (IWSH) is pleased to announce that prominent companies Ferguson, Milwaukee Tool, WinSupply, LIXIL and Reliance Worldwide Corporation (RWC) have pledged support, both financially and in products/materials, for the upcoming Community Plumbing Challenge, set for June 3-7 in the Navajo Mountain region on the Arizona-Utah border. Additionally, three United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the United States, Canada (UA) chapters — Local 400 in Kaukauna, Wisconsin; Local 412 in New Mexico and El Paso, Texas; and Local 469 in Phoenix — are sending members and/or making financial contributions.



WaterSense Funding Under Threat... Again

While Congress recognized the success and importance of WaterSense this past December by authorizing the program as part of America’s Water Infrastructure and Improvement Act, President Trump’s proposed FY 2020 budget proposes elimination of the WaterSense program.


IAPMO Seeks WE•Stand Task Group Members

IAPMO is seeking applicants to serve as technical experts on Water Efficiency and Sanitation Standard (WE•Stand) task groups.


WaterSense Home Version 2.0 Specification Released

On April 18, 2019, EPA released the WaterSense Draft Specification for Homes, Version 2.0 which aims to further promote residential water efficiency and help enable market transformation in home construction. The specification is applicable to single-family homes and multifamily buildings. EPA will require homes that earn the WaterSense label to be at least 30 percent more water-efficient than a comparable home of typical new construction.


Wipes Labeled As ‘Flushable' Wreak Havoc on Household Plumbing and Municipal Sewers

Thinking twice about what you flush away may help you save money, and the environment. Ryerson University released a new report on the first ever test of single-use wipes against rigorous criteria for flushability. The report, entitled Defining "Flushability" for Sewer Use, comes out of Ryerson's Flushability Lab at Ryerson Urban Water, and includes the testing of 101 single-use products, of which 23 being labeled as "flushable" by the manufacturer.

Mayor Eric Garcetti has released Los Angeles’ Green New Deal, which sets aggressive goals for the city’s sustainable future, tackles the climate emergency with accelerated targets, strengthens our economy and our middle class, and sets L.A. on course to be carbon neutral by 2050.
