IAPMO Releases Report on Comments Books for 2012 Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa and Hot Tub Code and 2012 Uniform Solar Energy Code
IAPMO has uploaded to its online download center (www.iapmo.org/Pages/DownloadCenter.aspx) the 2012 Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa and Hot Tub Code (USPSHTC) Report on Comments book and will follow suit with the 2012 Uniform Solar Energy Code (USEC) Report on Comments book on Feb. 20. Published within these documents are the final ballot results from the Dec. 8, 2011, voting of the USPSHTC and USEC technical committees.
The Report on Comments (ROC) is published during the final year of each code’s development process. This document contains the comments received on proposed changes, the committee’s action and the committee’s statement explaining any non‐affirming votes. For members of the technical committee who choose to abstain from voting or voted negatively, a statement as to their reasons is also included.
The USPSHTC and USEC are a model codes developed by IAPMO to govern the installation and inspection of swimming pool, spa and hot tub systems, and solar energy systems, respectively, as a means of promoting the public’s health, safety and welfare. The 2012 edition of each code, due for release later this year, is being developed through a process accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). IAPMO’s Uniform Plumbing Code® (UPC) and Uniform Mechanical Code® (UMC) have been developed via an ANSI consensus process since 2001 and the USPSHTC and USEC since 2007.
