IAPMO R&T to Return as Sponsor of Builder Concept Home Series

IAPMO R&T is pleased to be a sponsor of the 14th annual Builder Concept Home series, which will debut Feb. 8-11, 2012, at the International Builders Show in Orlando, Fla.

The innovative series features three distinct homes, each of which targets a specific demographic: Gen X, Gen Y and baby boomers. The homes will serve as models for a 1,900-unit section of the Eagle Creek Community near Orlando's Lake Nova. Attendees will be able to tour the homes, and a virtual tour of the baby-boomer house will be available on the project's Website, www.builderconcepthome2012.com.

The houses feature WaterSense®-labeled plumbing products that are certified by third-party certification bodies such as IAPMO R&T, which also sponsored the event last year.  IAPMO R&T has been a licensed provider of WaterSense® certification since 2007, certifying the first high-efficiency toilet (HET) to the standard in April of that year. To date, IAPMO R&T has certified thousands of lavatory faucet, toilet, urinal and showerhead models to the WaterSense® specifications. Products bearing the WaterSense® label must not only save water, but also perform as well or better than conventional models on the market.

The project represents a significant and market-driven shift for residential development in the current economy. "To be economically and socially viable, new master plan communities have to appeal to a broad spectrum of potential buyers with homes that take into account different lifestyle needs," says Boyce Thompson, Builder's editorial director. "Homes must also be flexible enough to adapt as household circumstances change."

Builder commissioned a prestigious project team for the 2012 Concept Home. The builder, Centerline Homes, is the largest private builder in Southern Florida. Woodley Architectural Group, Inc., of Littleton, Colo., designed the Gen Y and Gen B homes, while Canin Associates of Orlando designed the Gen X home and provided the landscape plan for the project. Kay Green Design, Inc., also based in Orlando, will be responsible for the interior design and merchandising of all three homes. Emerson International, Inc. is the development partner.

"Our 2012 project partners serve as benchmarks for quality and innovation," said Warren Nesbitt, executive director of Hanley's Wood Residential New Construction Group. "Their expertise and collaboration will make the Builder Concept Home 2012 one of our most exciting projects to date."

Since 1936, IAPMO and IAPMO R&T have listed plumbing, mechanical, solar and numerous other products, creating decades-strong value and instant recognition among Authorities Having Jurisdiction for their cUPC® and other highly credible Marks of Conformity. Homebuilders and buyers have long realized that when they look for the R&T Marks of Conformity, they are assured of the manufacturer's commitment to meeting the standards for plumbing, mechanical, solar thermal and swimming pool products.
